David Cronenberg, Nina Keogh, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, and ACTRA Toronto members who won 2024 Dora Mavor Moore Awards are recognized for their outstanding achievements in and contribution to the performing arts.

David Cronenberg: Norman Jewison Career Achievement Award

David Cronenberg was presented with the Norman Jewison Career Achievement Award at the sixth annual TIFF Tribute Awards, which was held on Sunday, September 8 at Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

Cronenberg was honoured for his willingness to explore unconventional themes and his innovative storytelling continues to shape contemporary cinema worldwide. The Norman Jewison Career Achievement Award recognizes Canadians in the film industry who have made a global impact with their careers.

Nina Keogh: Tribute Award

ACTRA Toronto Member Nina Keogh was honoured with a Tribute Award by the Youth Media Alliance (YMA) in recognition of her contribution to the advancement of the YMA over the years.

The YMA celebrates the best in Canadian media production for children and youth. A total of 10 Tribute Awards were presented this year to mark the YMA’s 50th anniversary (five francophones and five anglophones who have worked either behind or in front of the camera).

Paul Sun-Hyung Lee: 2024 Canadian Award of Distinction

Paul Sun-Hyung Lee was presented with the Canadian Award of Distinction at the 2024 Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards.

The Canadian Award of Distinction honours a Canadian whose body of work exemplifies outstanding achievement in the entertainment industry.

Damien Atkins, Outstanding Performance by an Individual (Musical Theatre Division) for De Profundis: Oscar Wilde in Jail; the ensemble of: Donna Garner, Lawrence Libor, Marcus Nance & Brendan Wall, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble (Musical Theatre Division) for Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812; the ensemble of: Akosua Amo-Adem, Virgilia Griffith, Sterling Jarvis, JD Leslie, Tawiah M’Carthy, Tony Ofori, Makambe K. Simamba & Ordena Stephens-Thompson, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble (General Theatre), Three Sisters; and the ensemble of: Lowen Morrow and Sharjil Rasool, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble (Independent Theatre Division) for SwordPlay.

The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) 44th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards ceremony was held on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Toronto and was hosted by ACTRA Toronto member Ryan G. Hinds.
