Spotlight: 2025 Inside Out Film and Video Festival

ACTRA Toronto members are in the spotlight at the 35th annual Inside Out Film and Video Festival.

From May 23 to June 1, 2025, Inside Out will showcase one ACTRA Toronto feature film and six short films.

Below you’ll find a round-up of ACTRA Toronto productions at this year’s festival and the talented casts of ACTRA Toronto Members who bring these stories to life.


REALLY HAPPY SOMEDAY

Before he transitioned, Z was a rising star in Toronto’s theatre scene. But now, with testosterone affecting his voice, he must learn to navigate his evolving body in order to return to his passion—without sacrificing his present. Along the way, Z finds support in Shelly, a vocal coach helping him reconnect with his voice, and Santi, a bar owner who offers both a barback job and a listening ear, sharing in Z’s experiences.

A transgender man confronts his cisgender boyfriend’s disapproval toward a gender affirming procedure.

LAST CALL

A lesbian couple must rely on a jaded bartender to work through their recent-breakup bubble to survive a sudden zombie attack inside a dying Queer bar.

A young man falls prey to an elusive hustler.

CAT SITTERS

Four friends reunite to watch scary movies while cat sitting, but a power outage and the nagging suspicion that they’re not alone threatens to kill the vibe.

HELLO STRANGER

Between loads of laundry at the corner laundromat, Cooper shares the tumultuous story of her gender reassignment journey.
